What Is a Website Screenshot Generator?
Quick answer: A website screenshot generator opens a public page in a real browser on a server and saves it as an image. Paste a URL, pick a desktop or mobile width and a capture type (visible area or whole page), then download a PNG. Try it with your own URL.

How to Take a Screenshot of a Website
Paste the URL. Type a public page's address into the box labeled "Enter a Website URL i.e. https://www.example.com". A bare name like www.example.com works too: the tool adds https://.
Pick the device. Under "Select one of the Devices", the monitor tile is Desktop (1366 by 768) and the phone tile is Mobile (430 by 932).
Pick the capture type. Under "Choose Screenshot Type", the square Full Screen tile is the default and, despite the name, means the first screen above the fold, not your monitor. The arrow tile, Full Page, takes the whole page.
Generate and download. Press Generate Screenshot, wait out the "Generating Screenshot..." card (a few seconds in our tests), then press Download Screenshot. The preview is smaller than the file, so judge the PNG.

The file is PNG only, lossless, at normal pixel density (device pixel ratio 1). A 430 px window usually brings up the phone layout because the page's own CSS media queries respond to window width. Only two widths exist, so a breakpoint between them will not show.
What a Webpage Screenshot Shows and What It Misses
You are a signed-out visitor. A login page comes back as its form and a bot check box such as a CAPTCHA as it appears, unsolved.
The server's answer is the page. A custom HTTP 404 page is captured like any other, redirects are followed, and cookie bars appear as loaded.
Mobile is a narrow window, not a phone. It has no touch, announces itself as desktop Chrome and reports a 1280 by 720 window to a page's JavaScript at load, so a site that sniffs the user agent can still send the desktop page.
Full Page rearranges the page. It scrolls to wake lazy loading (12 of 12 test images rendered) and un-pins fixed elements like a sticky header. On our About page that dropped a closed menu into view and pushed the content aside: the left half of the Desktop image came out blank and Mobile became a narrow clipped column. That is our script's doing, not your page's. A tall page with big white gaps can come back short: a 4,000 px test page with a 2,000 px gap gave 2,382 px.
Some pages fail, and the tool says so. Text that is not a web address, a name that does not exist, a certificate error, an empty page, one flat color or a page too slow to load ends in a message, not an image. In our tests a page answering after 12 seconds was captured and one answering after 25 seconds was not; its message came after about 46 seconds.
One page per run. There is no batch, schedule, delay or element picker.
Tips for a Cleaner Website Screenshot
Use the exact address. http, https, www and the path can each reach a different page.
Shrink long captures. Our About page as a Desktop Full Page PNG had a file size of 1.7 MB, so shrink that image file with the image compressor, or convert PNG to JPG with the PNG to JPG converter.

How do I take a screenshot of a whole web page?

Is the website screenshot generator free, and do I need an account?
Yes. It is free and needs no account. The downloaded PNG has no visible watermark, only a small SEO Site Checker note in its file properties. Each run takes only one public page, so a second URL needs another run.
What size and format are the screenshots?
PNG is the only format. Full Screen gives 1366 by 768 on Desktop and 430 by 932 on Mobile. Full Page keeps the window width, though Mobile can come out wider, and takes the page height. For other formats, use the PNG to JPG or WebP converter.
Why is my screenshot blank, missing or different from the real page?
A page that cannot be opened, or that comes back as one flat color, ends in a message instead of a blank PNG. If an image arrives but looks off, suspect a cookie banner, a pop-up, a bot check box, the narrow Mobile window or Full Page un-pinning a fixed element.
Can I screenshot a page that needs a login?
No. It opens the address as a signed-out visitor and has no field for cookies, headers or credentials, so a login page returns its form. A password protected page behind an HTTP prompt showed only the server's own reply in our test. Use your own browser for signed-in pages.
Is the mobile screenshot a real phone view?
No. This mobile screenshot of a website is a 430 by 932 desktop browser window with no touch. A responsive layout switches to its phone design because its media queries see 430 px, while the viewport meta tag is ignored. Check touch on a real phone.
Can it hide cookie banners, ads or pop-ups?
No. Full Screen shows the page as it loaded, so a cookie banner stays: on our About page it covers a strip about 100 px high across the Desktop image. Full Page can pull hidden menus into view by un-pinning fixed elements.
How long does a website screenshot take?
A few seconds in our tests: about 3 to 4 for Full Screen and 4 to 10 for Full Page, longest for a 25,600 px test page. Each load attempt waits up to 15 seconds, so a slow page may end in a message.
