What Happens to My File?
Your PDF is processed on our server. The uploaded PDF and any watermark image are deleted when processing ends, whether it succeeds or fails. The result is stored in a folder with a random name and stays available to download for about two hours, then it is deleted automatically. Uploads and downloads go over HTTPS.
When to Watermark a PDF
- Marking ownership. Add a logo or name to brand a document you distribute.
- Labeling status. Stamp Draft, Confidential, or Sample so the document's status is clear.
- Adding a copyright notice. Put a copyright line on your pages before you share your work.
- Discouraging misuse. Make a document visibly marked so it is less likely to be passed off as unmarked, though it will not stop someone with a PDF editor from removing the mark.
